Freedom from Lying
Father,
Speak to my heart through Your Word and deliver me from deceit today, I pray.
Leviticus 9:11 You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.
Lord, strengthen me to deal honestly with others and never lie.
Joshua 24:14 “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!
Lord, empower me by Your Spirit to serve You in sincerity and truth walking free of the ways of evil I learned before I knew You.
1 Samuel 12:24 Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.
Lord, fill me with reverence for You and empower me to serve You in truth with all my heart.
Psalms 15:2 He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart
May Your truth abide in my heart that I may walk uprightly and act righteously.
Proverbs 8:7 For my mouth will speak truth; Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Lord, if a lie forms in my mind, make it so sickening to my spirit that I reject it and speak only truth.
Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.
Matthew 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Father, Father, I want NO part of your enemy, the Father of Lies! Lord, You command me to speak truth to others. Empower me by Your Holy Spirit to obey this command every day.
I ask, believing in Your power to set me free from lying for any reason and deliver me to a life of honesty. I commit to come to You each day and read these verses until they are engrained in my mind. If I find myself lying again, remind me of the truth of Your Word again and bring me to repentance. I pray believing, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
