Forgiveness for Myself

Father,

Please work in my mind and spirit today to build my walls of belief in the truth that You have forgiven me, and I need to believe I am worthy of forgiveness. Help me understand that Satan is the one who wins when I do not forgive myself. He wants me to stay at the waters edge, dragging my sin out of the “sea of forgetfulness” where You disposed of it. He knows if he can keep me remembering and anguishing over my past sins, I will be unable to move forward and fulfill Your plan for me. Father, make me understand that it is not about what I deserve. It is about what You desire. Build my spiritual house in such a way that I am able to forgive myself. I ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

Psalms 32:1-5

Blessed is the one
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord does not count against them
and in whose spirit is no deceit.

3 When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
4 For day and night
your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
as in the heat of summer.[b]

5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
the guilt of my sin

Psalms 103:11-13

For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

Psalms 51:7-13

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
9 Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.

Psalms 32:1

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

Psalm 86:5

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Colossians 1:14-15

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [c]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption [d]through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Titus 3:3-7

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
